There’s a huge market in netbooks and being a latecomer in the netbook industry, I believe AMD has everything to loose should they decide to compete with Intel’s Atom. However, recent news released by AMD has somehow hinted that they might instead focus on the ultraportables instead.
On the other hand, focusing on ‘higher-end’ market might also bring in better revenue for AMD – rather than spending billions in developing a technology which yields little ‘value’ when sold to consumers.
I believe that AMD might just roll out their own version of dual-core processors for ultraportables instead. Furthermore, it’s much more powerful when compared to Intel’s Atom.
